Welcome to WaterColor

Timeless resplendence meets warm hospitality.

Find a comforting familiarity among the swaying palm trees of WaterColor, where the thoughtfully designed neighborhood layout and harmonious blend with the natural scenery evokes a sense of belonging in all those who visit and live there.

An unincorporated, master-planned community that’s a part of Seagrove Beach, WaterColor is located adjacent to Western Lake and rests along the Florida Panhandle as part of Walton County. Owned by the St. Joe Company since 1927, WaterColor is mainly a resort and residential community designed by Cooper, Robertson & Partners in collaboration with Urban Design Associates.

The houses here draw on the charm of the old south; large single-family homes with stately facades that feature wooden columns and wrap-around porches invite visitors to recline under the shade and enjoy the beauty of good company. A perfect mix of coastal forest greenery and spectacular Gulf views, WaterColor lives up to its name and paints a vibrant, serene picture for all who visit.

What to Love

People & Lifestyle

WaterColor is truly a family-oriented community, which is evidenced by its many convenient amenities and large residential homes. In addition to being perfectly located for recreation, the laid-back atmosphere is elevated with the presence of The WaterColor Inn, one of Florida’s best resorts.

Shopping, Dining & Entertainment

Though small, WaterColor offers small boutique stores and exquisite eateries that elevate your stay. Shop for your gift, beachwear, and clothing needs at the WaterColor Store and Beachfolly, where the products will always be a fond reminder of your stay. For additional retail therapy, you can head out to any one of the nearby shopping malls, like the Silver Sands Premium Outlet, which boasts dozens of name brand deals from stores like Asics, Coach, Kate Spade, and Michael Kors, as well as options for dining.

For sophisticated fine wines—as well as a mini-market and restaurant, The Wine Bar—check out the local Wine World. Here you’ll find a carefully curated selection of the best wines, beers, spirits, and liquors in addition to gourmet foods and cheeses to pair perfectly with your choice. With the goal of enhancing your “vacation state of mind,” the restaurant Fish Out Of Water, or FOOW, offers delectable regional cuisine and a casual, large family-style dining venue with serene views of the Gulf.

Things to Do

One of the larger coastal dune lakes in the area, Western Lake offers up opportunities to explore the wetlands and diverse environments. With a boat ramp provided by the surrounding Grayton Beach State Park, Western Lake’s recreational activities are easily accessible.

In addition to its close vicinity to several large state parks and lakes, WaterColor also boasts incredible local amenities. Play a round at any of the three nearby golf courses—Camp Creek Golf, Shark’s Tooth, and Origins Golf Club— or rent kayaks and canoes at WaterColor BoatHouse. Looking to spend your days floating in a sublime paradise? WaterColor also has community pool options, and those looking for a resort-style swimming experience can stay at The WaterColor Inn. The resort now offers the new impressive private pool features, Camp WaterColor and WaterColor Beach Club

WaterColor is also home to several impressive festivals and events, including the much-loved annual Harvest Wine and Food Festival. With benefits that go to charity, participants can enjoy giving back to the community while sipping on some of the world’s finest wines and partaking in dinners curated by some of the area’s best restaurants.
